Rivian cuts 140 salaried manufacturing jobs (~1% of workforce).

TK note: I'm sorry for those who lost their jobs in this latest round of cuts. Rivian has immense pressure to show gross margin in the doldrums before R2.

The Dune R1T is officially sold out, only a few Dune R1S's remain.

Lease EV tax credit expires in 3 days.

Rivian changes their Referral program for volume partners.

TK note: I'm disappointed to see Rivian make this change even if only impacts a very small % of owners. The referral program is a (very cheap!) way to create a business model around Rivian content. I still plan to help curate the best of what I know how with Rivian, but it may impact my ability to deliver at the cadence I would've otherwise liked to.

Today is the last day of my epic >5k mile road trip.

It's been a real pleasure seeing so much of the country, and meeting a few of you along the road at fast charging stops. 👋

Showing my (soon to be 93) Texas grandma how the R1S works, especially with hands-free driving was definitely a highlight of the trip.

I'm excited to dive into the mountain of footage and give a full recap of the miles, charging experiences and how the car did overall.

If you ever get a chance to see more of the country and spend time with friends and family along the way I highly recommend doing it at least once.

But I'd be lying though if I didn't say I'm exhausted 😅.

Latest Deals

The biggest change / news to the incentives is that the lease EV credit for capital cost reduction of $7,500 is only for sure valid through June 30th.

If you're considering a lease, act fast.

2026 models will be ~1k more expensive AND lose the 7.5k lease credit.

Note: Some incentives require working with an advisor to get all incentives applied. If you need an introduction to one, just reply and I'll get you sorted.

The best deal you should act fast on with the EV tax credit going away in just a few days is the standard pack R1S and R1T with the LFP battery.

Lease deals can be has for as low as $599/month now, but the preferred configurations with better audio and things like the powered v2 tonneau bump that up slightly.

This is a drop of around $200/month and is still eligible for other incentives such as the electric refresh offer below.
